Monideepa Tarafdar


Monideepa Tarafdar is the Charles J. Dockendorff Endowed Professor of Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management¹². She also serves as the PhD Coordinator in Information Systems Operations & Information Management¹.


Educated in India, she studied physics, math, and chemistry as an undergraduate and earned a master’s degree in engineering³. She holds a PhD in Management, specializing in information systems and strategy, from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, India¹²³.


Before joining the University of Massachusetts, she taught at the University of Toledo, Ohio, and Lancaster University in England²³. She has held various academic appointments, including Visiting Scholar at The London School of Economics and Political Science, Senior Fellow at Wiezenbaum Internet Institute, Berlin, and Co-Director of the Highwire Doctoral Training Program at Lancaster University².

Alexander Benlian


Professor Alexander Benlian is the Director of the Endowed Chair for Information Systems & Electronic Services at the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt)¹. He has held this position since 2012¹. Prior to this, he was at the University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München), where he received his PhD and worked as an Assistant Professor¹.


In addition to his role at TU Darmstadt, he is also a faculty member at Goethe Business School, Frankfurt, teaching MBA courses in the Master of Digital Transformation Management¹. His research interests include algorithmic management's role in evolving business landscapes, from traditional to platform organizations, the digital metamorphosis of the workplace, and collaborative dynamics between humans and AI¹.
